CONWAY, S.C. — July 2026 — For nearly half a century, Health Care Partners of South Carolina (HCPSC) has quietly done the work that matters most: caring for the people of Horry, Florence, and Marion counties, regardless of what they can pay or where they can go. Today, that work is becoming visible in a new way.
Construction is officially underway on HCPSC's new flagship campus in Conway — a 55,000-square-foot facility, and the single largest capital investment in the nonprofit's 47-year history — rising on the same ground where the organization has served this community for generations.
Conway is changing fast. New retail, new restaurants, new businesses — it seems like something new is being built on nearly every corner of this city. HCPSC intends to grow right alongside it. As the community it serves expands, so does its commitment to make sure every new neighbor, every new family, and every longtime patient has access to high-quality, affordable health care close to home.
This is not simply a new building. It is a statement of intent from a nonprofit organization that has never operated for profit and never will. Unlike many health care providers, every dollar HCPSC earns is reinvested directly back into the community it serves — into more services, more providers, and more access for the families of the Grand Strand and beyond. As a federally qualified health center (FQHC), HCPSC has spent 47 years putting people before profit, and this new campus is the clearest evidence yet of that mission in action.
One Roof, Nine Ways to Care for a CommunityThe new Conway campus will replace a century-old facility that has served the community for generations, consolidating nine essential service lines under a single roof for the first time: Primary Care, Pediatrics, Dental, Eye Care, Pharmacy with a drive-thru, Behavioral Health, Women's Health, a Diabetes Prevention Program, and Substance Use Disorder treatment. The result is a one-stop destination for whole-person, whole-family health care — designed to remove barriers and bring coordinated care closer to the people who need it most.
And access doesn't stop at the front door. To meet the needs of a growing community, HCPSC's Conway location is already open six days a week, Monday through Saturday — giving patients the flexibility to get care when their lives allow for it. That same commitment to accessibility will carry forward into the new campus, extended across all nine service lines.

That founding promise never changed, even as the organization did. Over the decades, what began as a single location serving a small corner of Marion County has grown into a community health center with five locations spanning Horry, Florence, and Marion counties — carrying the same values that started it all into every community it now calls home.
The Conway campus is not a departure from that legacy — it is its fullest expression yet. HCPSC's Marion County roots are the reason "no one turned away" is not a slogan but a standard, carried forward from Gresham to Conway and every stop in between. Built by Partners Invested in Conway's FutureHCPSC's new campus is being brought to life through a collaboration of partners who share the organization's commitment to this community. Novus Architects, Inc. designed the facility to reflect both the character of Conway and the needs of a modern, patient-centered health center, while Mashburn Construction is serving as general contractor, leading the project from groundbreaking to grand opening. First Citizens Bank, led locally by VP Business Banker Lee Belcher, is providing the financing partnership that makes this milestone project possible. HCPSC is also grateful for the continued support of the City of Conway and the guidance of its own volunteer Board of Directors, whose leadership has helped steward this project every step of the way.
