At CareSouth Carolina, we believe healthcare is about much more than treating illness. We strive to be a trusted home for our patients and communities by supporting the whole person and helping families overcome challenges that extend beyond the exam room.
Some of the ways CareSouth Carolina is making a difference include:
• Supporting the whole family through Family Support Services (FSS): Our Community Health Workers help patients address non-medical factors that influence their health, including food insecurity, transportation, insurance enrollment, Medicaid and SNAP eligibility, pregnancy support, patient education, home visits, and connecting individuals with vital community resources. By removing barriers to care, FSS helps patients stay healthier both inside and outside the clinic.
• Making medications more affordable: Through our Community Pharmacies and participation in the 340B Drug Pricing Program, CareSouth Carolina helps eligible patients access affordable prescription medications while reducing financial barriers that can prevent them from following their treatment plans.
• Investing in healthier communities: CareSouth Carolina supports a variety of community health initiatives, including school meal programs, Community Health Hubs, health education efforts, outreach events, screenings, and partnerships designed to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
• Expanding care for students: Coming soon, CareSouth Carolina will introduce school-based optometry services, making it easier for students to receive vision care where they learn and help remove barriers to academic success. This is in addition to our already-expansive school-based care services.
Every day, CareSouth Carolina is committed to ensuring our patients have the care, support, and resources they need to live healthier lives—because being a healthcare home means caring for the whole person, the whole family, and the entire community.
