At Fetter Health Care Network, we believe in growing not just providers but leaders, change-makers, and advocates for community health. That’s why we’re proud to announce our partnership with Trident Hospital, a collaboration designed to create a supportive, real-world learning environment for medical residents and future healthcare professionals.

This partnership is more than just clinical rotations or checklists it’s about cultivating a culture where young, motivated providers feel seen, supported, and inspired.

By opening our doors to Trident’s medical residents, we offer firsthand experience in delivering compassionate, community-centered care. In return, these bright, enthusiastic learners bring fresh energy and ideas that remind us why we do this work every day.

“We’re intentional about creating a space where young professionals can feel challenged but also cared for,” said Dr. Aretha R. Polite-Powers, CEO of Fetter. “We want them to see the humanity in healthcare, not just the medicine.”

Whether it’s sitting with a patient who speaks a different language, navigating tough social challenges, or simply learning to listen more deeply, residents are gaining skills they won’t find in textbooks. And they’re doing it alongside teams who are just as passionate about mentorship as they are about medicine.

Our friends at Trident share this vision wholeheartedly. Together, we’re not only training the next generation of doctors we’re shaping a more equitable, empathetic, and sustainable future for healthcare in the Lowcountry.

This is just the beginning. As we continue to walk alongside these young professionals, we’re reminded that the future of medicine is bright, and it starts with relationships, resilience, and respect.
