Community Development

The community development effort of the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association (SCPHCA) focuses on improving access to health care in South Carolina. SCPHCA staff works with community groups around the state to achieve this goal. In each location, the solution to the need for assistance may be different. In some communities, a new health center or site is needed. In others, a parish nurse program or health ministry is more appropriate. Whatever solution is worked out, each community is unique. The SCPHCA helps to facilitate this process.

The SCPHCA staff also provides technical assistance to existing or expanding health centers in our state. This may include strategic planning, board development or staff development.
