Any individual or primary health care provider or related health care
organization whose mission is similar to the Association may become a member of
the Association upon application for membership and acceptance of such
application by the Board of Directors.
Organizational: This
category is reserved for U.S. Public Health Service, Section 330 health centers.
Associate: Any
agency, business/industry, group or association whose mission and programs
support the advancement of primary health care and the other purposes of this
Association. This category includes mental health centers, primary care centers,
state associations as well as rural health clinics and other community-based
health care centers.
Individual: Any
individual interested in furthering the purposes of this Association.
Organizational, Associate and Individual members in good
standing shall have one (1) vote.
The membership of the SCPHCA is comprised of CHCs, community mental health centers, and other organizations and individuals interested in improving the health status of South Carolinians. Membership in the SCPHCA has grown to include 20 CHCs, 6 Community Mental Health Centers, and 7 individual members. The scope of work has evolved to include support and technical assistance in areas such as: community health needs assessments, health center development, governance, strategic planning and organizational development, finance, human resource management, information technology, clinical and administrative practice operations.
