Membership in the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association delivers a full complement of benefits and services including:

  • Assistance with provider recruitment and credentialing

  • Access to continuing education for providers, executive, and administrative staff of health centers

  • Community development activities including economic impact analyses, guidance for capital development projects, business planning and operational forecasting

  • Group purchasing of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, laboratory services, and health insurance for health center employees

  • Advocacy for primary care safety net providers at the federal and state levels

  • General legal services regarding Center operations, excluding individual Center representation

  • Outreach for special populations including children and the elderly. Outreach efforts consist of training, technical assistance and the development of outreach materials

  • Chronic disease management programs for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma, and depression

  • State and federal policy and legislative analysis

  • Manuals and publications on required clinical policies and procedures, including Performance Improvement/Risk Management

  • Participation in a revolving loan fund for capital improvements and equipment

  • Networking with other safety net providers, sharing lessons learned and models that work for the medically needy and vulnerable populations that primary health care safety net providers serve
