August is a memorable month on the 2017 calendar. The world was captivated by a total solar eclipse and boxer Floyd Mayweather will come out of retirement. Most importantly, August marked the annual occurrence known as National Health Center Week (NHCW). South Carolina's community health centers celebrated this occasion with a variety of events ranging from back-to-school giveaways to health screenings and receptions for elected officials. It was a grand opportunity for CHCs to showcase how they impact and improve communities. SC CHCs took full advantage hosting more than 70 events collectively during NHCW, which was recognized Aug. 13-19.  The theme for this year's festivities wasCelebrating America's Health Centers: The Key to Healthier Communities.
