The Faith and Health Initiative seeks to provide
training and resources to health center personnel on the intersection of health
and faith. Additionally, the Initiative will help health centers learn to work
with their local faith communities. And it seeks to educate the faith community in South Carolina about health centers, their locations and services.
SCPHCA partners with
Duke Divinity School, Caring Communities Program to help initiate parish nurse
or health ministry programs in communities where this is the most appropriate
alternative.
The Faith and Health Initiative includes Hold Out The
Lifeline: A Mission To Families. This program seeks to train lay health
advocates across the state.
The SCPHCA also partners with The South Carolina Christian
Action Council to work with denominational leaders around matters of access to
health care.
Other partners include the Congregational Nursing Network and the Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy's Faith-Based Initiative.
