Increasing access to primary health care and reducing or eliminating health disparities in South Carolina are primary goals of the South Carolina Primary Health Care Association (SCPHCA). In order to reach these goals, the SCPHCA advocates to improve access to health care, shape public health policy, and reduce the number of uninsured South Carolinians. As a statewide resource, the SCPHCA provides communications on policy developments and organizes grassroots education and advocacy efforts at the state level.

STATE POLICY

The SCPHCA works to eliminate barriers to health care access, leverage resources and create coalitions to expand Community Health Centers (CHCs) across South Carolina, and provides advocacy on behalf of clinics and the low-income people they serve. In order to do this more effectively, the SCPHCA has implemented a Public Policy and Advocacy Program that includes education and outreach, media, and grassroots organizing.
